The Youth Hostel “San Andrés de Cornellana” is a palace from the end of the 17th century. It was rehabilitated in 1992 to be used as a youth hostel, keeping though some of its most outstanding architectonic elements.
Its former 52 beds weren’t enough for the demand, so in 2001 the youth hostel was closed to undergo a new rehabilitation. The construction of an annexe, which is joined to the old building by a crystal-body connection, made the capacity of the hostel grow up to the current 132 places. In addition to this, several other important improvements took place, giving the town a different tourist complex adapted to the 21st century.
The Youth Hostel “San Andrés de Cornellana” is a member of the Red Española de Albergues Juveniles (REAJ), part of the international Young Hostel Association (YHA). It is accepted the use of the membership card, whose holder benefits from special rates. Application for the membership card is available within the youth hostel.
